ART ON MAIN

The Art on Main project started with the “In This Together” mural designed by Batesville High School student Olive Cerniglia. Nick Maple from The Simons Company was kind enough to allow the use of his building to showcase the mural. Nick approached me about using that same space for a more permanent mural when it was time for that one to come down.

At the same time I had wanted to do some sort of local artist contest for the town. It was from there we approached Jama Linkel-Cleghorn and Anne Wilson from Batesville Community Education Foundation about involving the students of the Batesville School Corporation. Jama and Anne have been wonderful to partner with. They took charge and organized what we all now know as “Art on Main”! This project allows young student artists to be able to create and display amazing works of art in large scale for the entire community to see.

We are all very proud to be part of such a great program!
